Hi,

I have a DNS-320L and i'm planning on migrating to freenas, for personal purpose.

I'm wondering if I can import data from a 4TB WD RED disk to free nas. It's the only disk I have and it's about 85~90% Full.

Can I migrate to freenas without loosing this data?

Thanks

Depending on the filesystem in use on that disk, you can probably use the "import disk" feature to copy the data from that disk onto your ZFS pool. FreeNAS does not support serving data from any other filesystem other than ZFS.

Is it possible to convert disk with this file systems?
You mean, convert the disk format to ZFS with the data in place? No, it isn't--you'd need to temporarily store the data somewhere else, format the disk as ZFS, then move it onto your pool.

Ok, that's a problem, I only have 2x500GB disks to backup.
Do you know any way to upload data to a cloud provider that suports this amount (3,5TB) temporary? Like a free 14 trial?

I'd recommend instead getting another 4 TB disk, copying the data to that, and then adding your first as a mirror--though if you have 3.5 TB of data already, you really should be looking at larger, or more, disks.
