Is it possible to upgrade from 8.3 x86 to 8.3 x64?

Hi,
I had a freenas system that used a core2duo and hence used to run freenas x86. I recently had to rebuild the box on new hardware and currently use an i3. I'd like to switch to freenas x64 since there seem to be a lot more plugins for x64 than x86. Is there an upgrade path for this and what's the best way for me to go about this?

backup config to your computer
install x64 edition to usb drive
plug in and boot
restore config

thanks pirateghost, I'm trying that now. My concern is that there are plugins which I've installed the 32 bit version of, I dont know what happens when I upgrade to the 64 bit os.

When I import the settings and reboot, it gets stuck after loading some RAI5 module.
