Hey there, bear with me - I'm just starting out with HA storage.
I was wondering whether it'd be possible to use two hosts in a ha setup, both connected to the same SAS-disk shelf, sharing the same disks.
Of course, this wouldn't protect against drive failures but would reduce the cost for budget setups immensely, as you could sustain a host failure without needing double the amount of disks to create a mirror. Cause, let's face it, a disk shelf with four separate HBAs and PSUs failing is pretty unlikely, compared to the connected TrueNAS hosts.
Again - this was just a thought that came into my mind, I have no clue if stuff works this way. So please excuse me if I'm talking absolute trash.
