Is a disk taken out of a mirrored vdev readable by itself?

If I have a two or three way mirrored vdev, and I unplug one of the drives, put it in a USB housing, and plug it into a Linux laptop with the ZFS driver installed, will I be able to mount and read it normally?

If you have more than one mirrored vdev, you'll need a mirror component from each vdev. Some people implement "broken mirror" backups. I do not endorse or recommend this, but it works for some situations.
