Install Composer in Jail

I'm having errors installing composer in my jail. After running
'php composer-setup.php' I get the following errors.

The filter extension is missing.
Install it or recompile php without --disable-filter

The iconv OR mbstring extension is required and both are missing.
Install either of them or recompile php without --disable-iconv

Why not pkg install php-composer ?

If it's already installed, what's the issue?

I'm having problems with the application that trying to use it so I incorrectly thought there was a problem with the way I installed it. Thanks for you help.
