So I got my shared folders up. I can see them. But I can't write to them. I go to putty and I type smbstatus
I find out that my windows PC is logged in as nobody (not the owner). If i change the owner of the folders to nobody then I can write to them. But what if I want to log in as somebody else? How did my PC get nobody as the owner?
Code:
root@freenas:~ # smbstatus Samba version 4.6.8-GIT-7a91926 PID Username Group Machine Protocol Version Encryption Sign ing ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------- 28104 nobody nobody 10.0.0.144 (ipv4:10.0.0.144:49907) SMB3_11 - - Service pid Machine Connected at Encryption Signing --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MEDIA 28104 10.0.0.144 Thu Dec 6 16:55:52 2018 CST - - Locked files: Pid Uid DenyMode Access R/W Oplock SharePath Name Time -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 28104 65534 DENY_NONE 0x100081 RDONLY NONE /mnt/Server/MEDIA .
