how do i add folders

i have freenas 8 installed on usb.

i go on another pc and i go to network. and my nas shows up. i click my nas and in there i want folders (films)(pictures) and so on. i have managed to make these folders but when i put a picture in the picture folder it also goes in the films folder.. and i dont want it to do that.and i cant figure out how to stop this. also how do i put a password on the nas so to even access the nas to see all my folders you need a password? really struggling on this.

also does all these settings.. are they saved on the usb stick were my nas os is installed to ?

You need to be more specific about your problem/question regards sharing folders.
Settings do stay on USB stick.
