Home directory permissions in version 9.2.1-3

First problem is described in this bug https://bugs.freenas.org/issues/3346. Although it make some inconvenience only for using FTP and it has workaround (necessary to add in auxiliary parameters DefaultRoot for using one directory by several users), second problem is impossibility to save home directory mode permissions in user settings (after applying settings with changed permissions nothing happening with permissions). The only way to change is change permissions for dataset with "recursive" checkbox. However in dataset would be 0777 permissions, in user settings all the same it not changed after applying.

Hi Lirk,

Im facing the FTP related problem where I want multiple users to connect to 1 folder within a dataset, but do not require each user to have a home folder... this worked ok before v9.2.1 as I set each users home folder to the same shared folder as the FTP root. As the username is now forcefully appended to the end of the home folder path, this is not ideal!!

Would you be able to elaborate on the workaround you mentioned relating to 'auxiliary parameters DefaultRoot' please?
