Hi, maybe this for someone could be a stupid question, but I've the following doubt: I've bought the case in the subject, and 6x4tb hard drives. The case come with two rack, each can take 4hdds: one of this rack has to be mounted over the psu, so can experience higher temperatures due the heat released from the psu.
So is better to place 4 hdd in the first rack and 2 in the rack over the psu, or the psu is not a problem and i can place 3 hdds for each rack?

The power supply should have a fan and be pushing air out of the case, so the heat shouldn't be a factor.

psu should be pushing hot air out of the case. And it should be pulling in air from outside also.

I have the same case, but have 8 HDDs. For my set up the inside drives (closest to motherboard) run the hottest, and the drives in the front cage run a bit hotter than the drives in cage at the back (above the PSU).

I've also replaced the stock fans, and the hdd/psu compartment has 3 Noctua fans (2 front, 1 back), so your results might not be the same. In any case assuming your drives support it, you can get your drive temps from smartclt (e.g. smartctl -x /dev/da0). Monitor the temps and see what works best.

Thanks for you feedback @bobbob . Maybe you're wrong when you say:

the hdd/psu compartment has 4 Noctua fans (2 front, 2 back)

because the maximum number of fans that you can put into the hdd/psu compartment is 3 if you use two hdd bays: two in the front panel and one above the psu on the rear panel... or I'm wrong, and you have putted one or two fans on the top?

My bad. You are right. I got 2 in the front and 1 in the back.
