getting rtorrent + rutorrent running on TrueNAS Core 12.0u1?

Hello,

I have been attempting to get rtorrent + rutorrent to run in a jail in TrueNAS Core 12.0u1 for about a week now and I cannot get it to work properly. Every tutorial and post I have found here and other places online is using outdated versions of things and will not install correctly anymore.

I have deleted and remade the jail that I am trying to do this in so many times I lost count, and I'd really like to be able to get this working.
