Bit of an odd one and wondering if anyone can shed some light on this.

I can hear my server accessing one of the disks or some of them for around 2-3 minutes where i get no access to the data, the logs also show no a blank as it can't get the status of the Zpool at all.

Ive run a SMART test on all drives and all of them come back fine. Im running ECC RAM and a N54L. FreeNAS also reports there may be a firmware update for my Seagate drives, but as such, i can't apply the update as the firmware i have on my drives isn't eligible for it.

Very confused and would appreciate any input as I'm at a loss.

Your best bet is to use top to see what your server is doing when it's offline.

The graphing can be interrupted if the load on the server is too high at the moment that the reporting service runs. I can't remember the name of it, but there's a rather detailed thread on this problem from a few months back.

Hi CJ

Had done that and watched it for half an hour. CPU has never been anywhere near the limit and the data throughput on the hd's has been under 10MBps.

Vuze stops all transfers and my shares give me a spinning beachball until it decides to wake up.

The HDD light is always on when it's spazzing out but I can't get anything from the logs to see what the issue is
