Hi there,

My clients FreeNAS server suddenly got the error on Grub:
Unknown filesystem. Entering rescue mode.

Googling I found the USB stick was corrupt.

I then rewrote the ISO onto a new USB stick and now get the error:
Freenas installation on da0 has failed. Press any key...

I have tried various suggestions I have read on here.

I tried 5 different USB sticks, including 2 new ones (SanDisk 8GB and SanDisk cruiser glide 8GB)
, and also tried 2 versions of FreeNAS. 9.3-stable and V11.1, and all variations of the sticks and software.

Please help!

I am little confused.

Have you followed section 2.3 of the manual?

Writing the .iso to the thumb drive means you've written the installation stuff to the thumb drive. You'll have to boot the installation media, but then you will have to install ON A DIFFERENT device, e.g., a different thumb drive.
