I believe I used FreeNAS at some point years ago, and have played with it a bit more recently. My point of that is my level of experience with FreeNAS is relatively low.

My server is a HP ML10v2 with an E1220v3 CPU. It's running under VMware 6.7U2. The machine has 28 GB of RAM, and 14 is set for FreeNAS.

I'm passing through my disks to the VM (not via PCIe, but as documented here: https://gist.github.com/Hengjie/1520114890bebe8f805d337af4b3a064)

For FreeNAS, I started with two 2 TB WD black disks (RE4's) mirrored with a SSD as a cache drive. After cloning some data over with Resilio Sync, and moving Channels to a Jail under FreeNAS, I swapped one of the RE4's out the day before yesterday with a 3 TB Red drive. I was surprised that it wasn't done resilvering yesterday morning, and late yesterday was around 80% done, but it was done this morning when I checked on it. My next step was to swap the other RE4 out with another 3 TB Red. (Just upgraded my UnRAID box from these 3 TB drives to 4 TB drives in a similar process).

To my problem:

I have two Jails, one running Channels, and one running Resilio Sync. The one for syncing wasn't really doing anything, as it had done it's job of cloning data from my UnRAID box and I had removed the folder sync config from it. The Channels jail recorded a show at 8 PM EST last night and it appeared to have recorded the entire thing.

This morning, I tried connecting to Channels, but could not. The WebGUI was unresponsive. The WebGui for Resilio Sync was also unresponsive. FreeNAS was up and running fine though, showing an uptime of over 1 day (back to when I swapped the drive). In the GUI, I found that both Jails were showing Up. I restarted them, and now the WebGUI for both Resilio and Channels are responsive again.

How can I best determine what went wrong? I'm not a FreeBSD expert or anything.
