SOLVED FreeNAS 11.3-U1 Cannot Unlock Encrypted Pool

Hi all,

I was on 11.2-U4 and was able to unlock my drives using my geli file and passcode.
I updated to 11.2-U8 in order to pick up the new train and was able to unlock my drives using my geli file and passcode.
I updated to 11.3-U1 and now I cannot unlock my drives using my geli file and passcode.

I get this very helpful error:

The serial console shows no prints when I attempt the unlock.

Anyone have any ideas?

This was solved with a reboot.
It seems like this is a bug with the UI not refreshing, somehow it was still referencing the passcode and geli key, but after reboot the unlock prompt is different and now works correctly.

I did not file a bug, I really do not have more information than above and nothing to reproduce it with.

I have this same error on 11.8 U8 unlocking a USB drive that has no passphrase. On Legeacy UI I can insert the USB drive then just hit Unlock. On the new UI it gives the error. I assume it doesn't like the drive appearing after initial boot

Just upgraded from 11.2-U8 to 11.3-U4 and had same issue ?
Unable to unlock encrypted pool ?

But another re-boot and the UI changed and this corrected itself.
Thankfully saw this thread
