Hello

I'm new to freenas here.
I got currently 4 hdd in my nas, but when I want to istall freenas I can just view 2 hdd.
when I use a command line to show all the drive it shows all of my drives (1usb where freenas is installed and 2 240gb that does show and 2 3tb that doesn't show)

is there a way that I can ad those?
o and reinstalling doesn't work

First thing you should probably do is check that the drives are being seen by the motherboard. Boot into the BIOS, check that the disks are listed. How many SATA connects do you have on your motherboard ? What are the specifications of the motherboard ? You should add as much information about your hardware as possible as it will be useful for people reading the post.

sorry I was a bit frustrated after 4 hours of work.
I use my old pc as nas for now wil be buying proper nas hardware in the near future.
mb: gigabyte z87-hd3
ram: 8gb from corsair ddr3 1600mz
cpu: i7 4770k
psu: 520watt from sseasonic

I had freenas already installed and those drives wher working and I had some test files on them.
after noticing I had freenas install on those 2 250gb drive I reinstalled freenas on a usb stick. after that I was never beable to use those drives again and they will not show in the tab "view disks"

when I use a command in freenas to view all the disk they do show up but I can''t do anything with them.
and yes my mb does see them and yes when installing freenas I'm beable to intall freenas on them.

EDITT: I'm just seeing that I have 2 warning"

  • CRITICAL: Nov. 30, 2016, 9:20 a.m. - The boot volume state is DEGRADED: One or more devices could not be opened. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue functioning in a degraded state.
  • WARNING: Nov. 30, 2016, 9:20 a.m. - smartd is not running."

My guess is you're still booting from one of the 250GB drives. Make sure you adjust the BIOS boot settings to boot from the USB device. Then you can wipe the 250GB drives and reuse them.
