Hi

Freenas Version 8.0.

Filesystem which is created on the comandline like "zfs create pool/test" is not visible on the WebGUI!

zfs list
NAME USED AVAIL REFER MOUNTPOINT
aggr1 4.22G 2.67T 35.9K /mnt/aggr1
aggr1/test 31.4K 2.67T 31.4K /mnt/aggr1/test

Also additional modification on a such filesystem via WebGUI isn't possible.

Has anybody a hint, how to make such objects visible in the WebGUI?

Regards
Robo

You could add your modifications manually to the FreeNAS sqlite database (/data/freenas-v1.db).

Commandline tools are not integrated with the FreeNAS DB which is maintained by the UI, and I don't think that it would make any sense for the FreeNAS team to integrate the commandline tools with the DB as this would force the developers to maintain a custom branch of all the zfs/samba etc. tools.

If you want to use the UI stick with the UI, don't mix and match it with the CLI.

PS. If you want to do things through CLI then you don't need FreeNAS anyway, any Linux distro with ZFS support can do the same as FreeNAS, albeit without a nice UI. ;)

I have seen where if you export the filesystem from the commandline and then use the auto import feature of the GUI some filesystems can be seen... but not all.. which is my problem in another thread.

so like a

zpool export aggr1

then try the auto import volumes in the GUI
