file path/name character limits?

Hi guys
ive got a issue regarding file/path character limits.

i have a SMB share setup using UNC paths.
the folder path/names wont go above 250? characters

im on
windows 10 pro 1903 - 64bit
FreeNAS-11.2-U6

SMB service has some aux parameters:

nfs4:mode = simple
ea support = no
store dos attributes = no
map archive = no
map hidden = no
map readonly = no
map system = no

I've set the windows GPO "enable win32 long paths" to enable higher characters but this didnt work .

does ZFS have a limit?
SMB is set to version 1 for printer compatablity. does SMB1 have a limit?
