File locking on NFS mount

I am mounting a Unix Share from a CentOS 5.6 client. The NFS mount works and is rw but locks cannot be created.

I am attempting to store backup data written by backup software and it cannot place the locks it needs.

Is there anywhere to enable or disable locking or otherwise configure it?

Mounting with -o nolock is what I needed. Thanks!
