Hi,

I want to consolidate one of my pc's at home to run as a virtual machine. for this I installed the OS (Arch) in the FreeNAS server.
the requirement for this to work is to assign a PCI express USB card directly to the Arch machine.
I didn't saw the option for direct I/O on the FreeNAS management interface.
Is there a way to modify this VM from the CLI and that the modification will stay after reboot?

Thanks in Advanced

You're probably best to wait for TrueNAS 12 Core... you then have the GUI for doing that.

I thought TrueNAS is only storage solution that runs FreeNAS , is it available as software? sorry for asking, I was using FreeBSD until now so not completely up to date

iX is unifying FreeNAS and TrueNAS in version 12. FreeNAS will become TrueNAS Core and the old TrueNAS will become TrueNAS Enterprise.

Depending on your situation, you can already change trains from FreeNAS 11.3 to TrueNAS 12 Beta.
