Hello guys,
I am new to freenas and have freenas 11 installed on a 8 bay server which are already full. Now I need more space for HDDs.
I am able to get another 8 bay server with all the hardware (mb, ram, cpu etc) for very cheap.
So instead of buying a new bigger chassis, is it possible to create a pool with remote drives?
both server will be connected with a direct 10gb connection.
I would install on both server freenas 11, create an iscsi share on one server and add it to the other freenas server to a pool.
Is that possible ? Am I able to combine local HDDs and remote Disks in one pool?
or is there any other solution using the two severs and „combine“ the storage?
thanks,
Jeneeben
