Boot USB failed, how to load old config

Hello,

My boot USB failed on version 11.2.x Now, I have installed 11.3 but it did not automatically find and use my old configuration.

I remember FreeNAS is saving its config somewhere in pool. I just do not know how to have a fresh system find and use it after such a crash.

I have one configuration db from June-2019 but prefer to use latest if possible.

Any help is appreciated.

Copy the file that you want and rename it as freenas-v1.db and locate it at: /data.

That didn’t help me. My config directory is empty.

should I try to load old backup and once system is up take latest available from mounted config directory?

Sounds like a reasonable fallback plan...

That did took sometime until all settles. But worked flawlessly.
