I didn't find anything in the bug reports, but that may be because I'm a raw newbie on bug reports. I noticed this:
Jun 6 23:16:33 datatank manage.py: [py.warnings:205] /usr/local/www/freenasUI/../freenasUI/freeadmin/middleware.py:205: DeprecationWarning: BaseException.message has been deprecated as of Python 2.6

on the messages screen.

Probably already known, but it appears that there is at least one more statement used in the gui that's been deprecated.

Accept my newbie apologies if this is a distraction, not a help.

Does that message still appear after updating to 201606072003?

Best I can tell no. I checked both machines for "deprecated" in messages and the several back versions. I only found it before the change to 2016...2003.

I don't know if that's because it's not there, or if I just didn't hit the sequence that caused the result. But no, no instances after updating.
