A ZFS pool spanned across 2 different controller cards

Howdy,

If I have 4 sata ports on the motherboard and a 4 port PCIE controller can I create a pool that contains drives on each controller? In my case the onboard controller supports sataIII drives and the 4 port PCIE controller is SataII.

Sure, there is no reason you couldn't...

SATA3 is quite useless for hard disks anyway, It can't even saturate SATA2, and you're not using port multiplier...

With that said about sata III what about a SSD cache drive that is Sata III on a sata III controller, any better performance than a sata II ssd?
