Got a IX system freenas and then purchased 4 WD Red 4tb drives.

A few days ago I log in and see this error....not sure what to do. The drives are all less than 6 months old. I have had no problems up until this point. Things still seem to be operating as normal as of right now.

Error Message here

I am not great with FreeNas so I hope someone can help a newbie out with this hardware issue

You can upload photos directly to the message board like this: IcaUIyC.png
That way people don't need to go to another website to see what you are talking about.

The problem you have is common. You have some bad sectors on the drive ada3. It is a good idea to keep a spare drive available so that when something like this happens, you can offline the defective drive and replace it.

The defective drive can then be sent to the manufacturer for replacement under warranty and the drive they send back to you can be held as a spare for the next time. I have had many drives fail and the possibility of drive failure it the reason that most members of the forum will suggest RAID-z2 instead of RAID-z1.
You should setup email notifications on your server so that it can notify you when something like this happens. There are also some monitoring scripts that have been developed by the community and are linked in the Resources section.
If you have any questions about the process of replacing a drive, there is a good reference here:
