Hi All,

I have been using freeness now for sometime without major incident (at least after i got it going). Recently i had a failure so i took the opportunity of upgrade to 9.3.

So i can created the installer then booted up and run the install, i can get into the console but i have to manually restart njinx to get in via the web interface 6 times out of 10. But the main problem is that i cannot get 9.3 to connect to the existing volume with all my media on it. I realise from reading that i should have been backing up and copying a configuration file but i do not have that.

When i add the existing volume either from the WI or from the console it scrolls text faster than i can read and the last thing i can see before it reboots is a reset command and then is resets. The WI just shows doing step 2 of 2 and sits there forever.

Additional info
I am trying to install 9.3 onto a HP N36L micro server.
8GB of RAM, 8GB Kingston Traveller USB stick.
8TB of storage in the Array ZFS with redundancy

Any idea what is happening, and how i can get to my data...?

Many thanks
Crash

If i restart the server at the console i have to reset the network configuration to get it to use DHCP and pick up an address, once this happenes the Webinterface comes online.
If i go to storage i can add the volume this starts the wizard about encryption, i say no just carry on then it detects the storage volume. It is a ZFS volume with parity (like raid 5 i think).
It thinks about it for 10 seconds in the webgui and then on the console i can just see text scrolling at the speed of light.

How can i find out what is failing and can i get back into my data, please help me someone....!
Thanks
Crash

What's the output (in code tags) of zpool import? Do you still have your old boot USB? If so, will it boot and import/mount the pool without problems?

What does this mean in english..?

Code:
we solved the problem, for us it was the name of the zpool corresponding with the mountpoint of a folder of the freenas filesystem.

because of the name of our pool DATA it wanted to mount the zpool to the /data mountpoint in the OS wich is the DATA folder of Freenas it self.

we changed the name of the zpool import pool and mounted it to /tmp so we could get to the files

can you do a zpool status and zfs get mountpoint and post the information here?

to change the name of the zpool import OLDPOOLNAME NEWPOOLNAME
