OK Im a noob in Freenas 8, but I have been following the upgrade path from initial freenas 8 to 8.2.0.

Today I upgraded 8.0.4 X64 release to 8.2.0 X64 Beta 1(want to use DNLA plugin)

But my nasbox (supermicro ATOM D510 + 4GB Ram + 2TB Samsung X 6) freezes right after the boot. I can see the ip address in my router the first time but after that its gone and not responding to ping.

I cant even turn the box off normally I have to hold power button for 3 seconds (never happen previously)

Any ideas? I the mean time I will revert back to 8.0.4.

ok I hooked the nasbox up to a vga monitor and its basically stuck here.
I have low-level formatted the usb stick (a generic 2GB that has been running fine, no error) still same problem.

I'm having the same problem, "solved" it by switching from AHCI to IDE in bios...

Motherboard: Asus E45M1-I

I dont think its related to AHCI/IDE since da0s1 (my boot drive) is a 2GB USB stick.

i have done a clean install (from iso) and same problem.

Gone back to 8.0.4 for now, all is well. waiting for the bug to be fixed.

Uhm... what does '?' say when you get that screen? There's a known timing issue with some controllers that requires a longer boot time, but I'm wondering if some kernel modules added/removed are messing up things. Can you please provide your pciconf -lv output in a pastebin somewhere for 8.0.2? Also, have you tried 8.0.4 yet?

I have a USB stick as well (16 GB) and I tried reinstalling several times, this was the fix for me, weird I know!

As described in the other topic with this error, I have the same problem. I can boot 8.2.0 BETA1 by manually typing the boot (as described in the other thread). My pciconf -lv gives the following (from 8.2.0)
