10G Speed issues on Intel X520-DA2

Not checked this thread in a while but can see someone else has been getting stuck into an issue but for the record mine is now resolved and turned out to be a simple school boy error, on the FreeNAS server board there are 4 x PCIe slots but turns out none of them run at their actual slot size bandwidth, I thought they were [8x] [8x] [8x] [16x] as that is what the physical slot sizes are but in fact after reading the board manual they run at [4x] [1x] [8x] [8x] and guess where I had the X520? Yes in the damn 1x slot moved it to the actual 8x slot and then speeds went up to 700/550 maxing out my pool speeds and then over 950MB/s on iperf so I am happy now finally after so much messing around, always check the basics
