Hmmmm, now to decide if it is worth the upgrade. I can run 64 on my hardware, how hard would it be to upgrade?

many thanks for the response, was really hoping for multiple user accounts. will keep looking

thanks
Andy,
You can set up multiple user accounts. Once you setup the main admin account you can add more user accounts as admin. Look for the settings icon. It should be on the top right hand corner in the new version if I remember correctly.

Hi all

Installed owncloud plugin in 9.1.1 Created ZFS dataset called OwnCloudTest as subdataset of Jails, gave WWW group ownership (root is user owner). In Jail, added storage to Owncloud, source being above, destination just /media

Owncloud service is running, IP for owncloud (in jail) is 192.168.1.4. I understand that apache web server is a part of this thing, and I think it is listening on port 80 ?

I have modem wireless router combo (DSL) and in NAT function, I forward port 80 to 192.168.1.4. Router tells me it uses port 80 and indicates that it has moved the router port 80, to 8080 so I am thinking I can still use 80. But when I try to connect in my browser to my external Router IP address, I get the router setup screen, not owncloud.

I am certain these are stupid questions, but even a general response will add to my knowlege base. Looking up a big hill - no that would be another learning curve, on top of the two others...

How can I upgrade the plugin to version 5.0.12?

Edit: I also see version 6 is coming out soon, I hope the plugin will be updated for that release in the not so distant future.Uploading directories with lots of small files is painfully slow on the desktop client. I am hoping OC 6 will improve performance.

Any idea how to change the upload max to be greater than 513MB? I suspect it's an Apache setting but aren't too sure where to look.
Any pointers would be appreciated.

There is a .htaccess file under /mnt/data/jails/owncloud_1/usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/

that you need to change to support larger uploads. Max_file size and max post. Or something like that. Sorry about the brevity, responding from my cell phone.

Look for
php_value upload_max_filesize 1026M
php_value post_max_size 1026M

Set them to the size that you want to allow.

In addition to the above error message in the logs get the wonderfully useful, "Some Error has Occured" when trying to start the plugin and I get the attached error in the screenshot when trying to start the plugin.

After installing/starting the owncloud plugin, I'm getting a browser error. The normal freenas web interface does not show up at all. Instead an error message shows up. "An error occured. Sorry, the page you are looking for is currently unavailable."

Not that this will help but isn't freenas running its own webserver?
Code:
/var/log# ps auxw | grep http
root 58631 0.0 0.4 251340 17212 ?? SsJ 10:43AM 0:00.23 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/sbin/httpd -DNOHTTPACCEPT

www 58635 0.0 0.4 251340 17224 ?? IJ 10:43AM 0:00.00 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/sbin/httpd -DNOHTTPACCEPT
www 58636 0.0 0.4 251340 17224 ?? IJ 10:43AM 0:00.00 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/sbin/httpd -DNOHTTPACCEPT

Is there a way to uninstall the plugin via command line?

Is there a way to set a file creation mask in a FreeBSD jail?
I want to install OwnCloud but in the past when I installed it, I couldn't figure out how to force uploads to have the rights of 770.

This works a treat, using the default options, but I'm struggling a little with permissions trying to add storage to the jail from my ZFS pool.

Ideally what I'd like is a separate dataset that I can also create a AFP share too, whilst maintaining access through the web interface and OSX/iOS applications. Have tried so many combinations through the GUI without any luck.

That said, using the default /media folder within the jail works really well, although the media folder permissions don't allow me to view though the jail AFP share.

Any ideas, or should I just leave it alone :D

You shouldn't be accessing the data in /media from a share at all. Owncloud likes to own its folder and doesn't like it when you play with it.

Hi all, it seems that the real freaks are here. I tried since thursday to install owncloud inside my freenas. I installed freenas first created all the volumes and finally started to install Plex first. This worked for me without trouble. Then I tried to get owncloud working and so far without success. I did 2 re-installs and every time when I sync my documents and try to reach owncloud again the other day I only get a white screen inside the browser. Means I can't enter the Web-interface any more. I'm really trilled about that installation because I think that I miss some understanding.

Before I started to install owncloud I created a dataset called /mnt/RAID1/Data/cloud but I haven't any clue which permissions I have to add that I get it running. I'm not sure where I can find the www user? All my drives does run as root.

Hope really that anybody can help me to get it running.

As the documentation states, you need to make sure the dataset is owned by www. Select the dataset in the Storage screen and use the change permissions icon to do this. The www user is one of the ones you can pick in the user menu.

I've given up trying to get the owncloud jail to use a dataset outside the default /media folder, but had no problems getting it running from there. Works a treat and have the desktop app syncing across several other machines, with a few user accounts. Also doesn't get picked up by the corporate systems that tend to block dropbox, googledrive, etc.

Setup WarningYour web server is not yet properly setup to allow files synchronization because the WebDAV interface seems to be broken. Please double check the installation guides.

I did not use any client. I installed the plugin and visited the web frontend. I filled the form for the first account and submitted it. The next page was this error.

Getting the same error on the 5.0.12 it seems to be related to https (SSL) access to the owncloud plugin. If I access it via the http:// address then the warning does not come..

This was not an issue in 5.0.11 that was previous in the plugin repo.

tatonka did you manage to solve it? Or did someone create a ticket?

Found some more interesting things in the log

isWebDAVWorking: NO - Reason: exception 'Sabre_DAV_Exception' with message '[CURL] Error while making request: SSL: certificate subject name 'ownCloud' does not match target host name '192.168.101.16' (error code: 51)' in /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/3rdparty/Sabre/DAV/Client.php:410 Stack trace: #0 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/3rdparty/Sabre/DAV/Client.php(179): Sabre_DAV_Client->request('PROPFIND', '', '<?xml version="...', Array) #1 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/lib/util.php(648): Sabre_DAV_Client->propFind('', Array) #2 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/settings/admin.php(34): OC_Util::isWebDAVWorking() #3 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/lib/route.php(113) : runtime-created function(1): require_once('/usr/pbi/ownclo...') #4 [internal function]: __lambda_func(Array) #5 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/lib/router.php(127): call_user_func('?lambda_8', Array) #6 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/lib/base.php(629): OC_Router->match('/settings/admin') #7 /usr/pbi/owncloud-amd64/www/owncloud/index.php(28): OC::handleRequest() #8 {main}
