Last Modified 2021-03-17 18:59 EDTNetwork devices use the Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) to advertise their identity, capabilities, and neighbors on an Ethernet network. TrueNAS uses the ladvd LLDP implementation. When the local network contains managed switches, configuring and starting the LLDP service tells the TrueNAS system to advertise itself on the network.
To configure LLDP, go to the Services page, find the LLDP entry, and click the .
General Options
Name | Description |

Interface Description | Enables receive mode. Any received peer information is saved in interface descriptions. |
County Code | Two-letter ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code used to enable LLDP location support. |
Location | The physical location of the host. |
Set Interface Description and enter a Country Code before turning the LLDP service on.
