Hey guys,

your views are important please let me know which one do you think will be good enough for a 16TB nas for 1080p HD movies streaming over home network?

Intel Core i3 2100, 1155, Sdy Bridge, 3.1GHz, 5GT/s, HD2000 IGP 850Mhz, 3MB Cache, 31x, 65W

or

Intel Core i5 2400, S1155, Sdy Bridge, Quad, 3.1GHz, HD2000 IGP 850Mhz, 6MB Cache, 95W

or

AMD Phenom II X4 960T Black Edition, S AM3, 3.0GHz, 8MB Cache, 95W,

Hi psreekanthteach,

All three of the processors you list are complete overkill for streaming a single movie.

That said, I think it's tough to buy a mainstream proc today that would be a bottleneck in a home environment. Of the 3 you list I would probably get the i3 & pair it with one of these Supermicro 1155 boards:
