I'm looking to build a second TrueNAS server. The parts I already have are as follows:
- Xeon E5-2680 v4
- 8 x 32GB 2400mhz Pc4-19200 Cl17 Ecc Registered memory (https://www.serversupply.com/MEMORY/PC4-19200/32GB/SAMSUNG/M393A4K40BB1-CRC0Q_295618.htm)
- 10G SFP+ Network Card (https://stordirect.com/shop/adapter-cards/network-interface-cards/silicom-pe210g2spi9a-xr/)
- 8 x 12TB SAS 12.0Gbps drives (Sector Size: 512 / 512e, Sustained Throughput: 243/255)
- 4 x 10TB SAS 12.0Gbps drives (Sector Size: 512 / 512e, Sustained Throughput: 249/237)
- Motherboard I was looking at the X10SRL-F, but welcome a cheaper option if there is one ( https://www.supermicro.com/en/products/motherboard/X10SRL-F )?
- Case was looking at the Fractal Define 7 XL, but there might be better options? Prefer something as quiet as possible
- HBA - I used an LSI SAS3008 9300-8I in my other build that has SAS drives, and it has worked quite well so far, so wondering to stick with that? Problem is I think I would need two of them if paired with these cables? https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08B1NWP67/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
- Any recommendations for heatsink and fan for the CPU?
- Also, not sure on PSU yet, with up to 14 drives, going to need a few molex connectors I guess :o
