Some more info from SuperMicro, at the moment the board don't support any form of Legacy boot and only option is to install with UEFI boot support.
Wow that's a new one. Not a real problem, but certainly unusual.

Yepp i dropped my jaw to. So if one don't pick UEFI boot in FreeNAS installation, it will never ever boot.
And of course i did what i always do an picked "legacy mode" in the installation.

The board have even more "funny" quirks. If you just power reset from iKVM it will not boot any type of iso or thumb drive. One need to power down and then power on again, then i boots the iso or thumb drive.
If you dont do that it will only loop boot menu screen. Screen goes black then you are right back in boot menu again.

*Still on BETA UEFI, and no news on when a stable one i going to be released.

Best Regards

At this rate new motherboards in 2020 will refuse to boot unless you manually connect to the debug interface of the CPU and initialize the memory controller manually...

Yet another update.

With the latest nightly build of FreeNAS the drivers for the new Intel X533 works like a charm.
The ISO i used is "FreeNAS-11-MASTER-201710220505-937d04e.iso"

I believe the first FreeNAS 11.1 beta has been released. I have a Supermicro SuperServer 5029A-2TN4 that has 4 Intel X553 nics. I hope to test the beta on this server soon. Hopefully the X553 nics show up! Or can anyone else confirm?

Regards,

Johan Hendriks

It's literally two posts above yours...
Aha, thanks. Must have missed that one. I believe that is about the 11.0 version isn't it?
I just tested the first 11.1 beta on my Supermicro SuperServer 5029A-2TN4 and all four Intel X553 nics show up.

No, the nightlies at that point were already well within the 11.1 branch. 11.0 doesn't include the updated driver.

Good to here.
You installed FreeNAS in UEFI Mode, right?
