x540-t2 not recognized as 10gb

Hey guys I'm Fairly new to this, I went ahead and installed a x540 t2 NIC card onto my truenas and it was recognized automatically yet I'm having the problem below. I'm not getting the 10gb performance. any help will be appreciated.

You likely have a counterfeit board. Here's a real X540-T2 with a YottaMark sticker.


I would return it for a refund if you can.

Also, for 10G, you need to use Cat6A or Cat7 cables.

I have some Cat8's I ordered for troubleshooting this problem I believe they are backwards compatible.

Alright so I'm back, with a new NIC that I ordered from he link in this conversation and believe it or not this one shows up on the dashboard and won't connect when plug in new ethernet cord. Also verified the card is real and it is. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Try a different cable, preferrably Cat6A or 7. This vintage of NIC may be too old for Cat8 frequencies.

Update
I reset all network configurations, then reset the NAS and its now working with Cat8 cable. Thank you for your help and recommendation of this NIC.

I am having the exact same issue. How do you reset all network and nas? Do you mean re install ?
