WOL woes

I have been trying to get WOL to work on my Truenas host but having little luck. Reading a lot of posts I'm seeing things like not supported (but from a few years ago) etc.

Need to go back to basics i think. Anyone know of configurations that need to be in place for WOL to work?

Ok so I'm an idiot. It occurred to me if the machine is powered off how can Truenas possibly be listening for WOL. It's a hardware level function. Went into BIOS and enabled WOL in the BIOS and presto works perfectly. No confirm in Truenas was needed.

It's a hardware level function, but it requires several bits and pieces that aren't always properly implemented by the hardware and mainboard manufacturers.
