I have a single Linux VM running in Core. That Linux VM network port is assigned ix2. The switch where ix2 is connected had a power failure and the physical link to the network went down. However I noticed the applications it was hosting were still running so I pinged the IP of the VM and it was like the cable was never unplugged from the network. Truenas is of course connected to LAN on one of the other ix interfaces. would truenas automatically change the VM’s NIC to the virtual adapter if the physical connection goes down? I’m completely baffled and worried that I can still ping this host when it’s assigned NIC is no longer connected to my LAN.
