Hello,
I have read now alot about free nas and a few questios stayed unanswered. I want to build a freenas with around 15TB of storage for multimedia stuff. I picked some parts. I have now and old system with old hardware and a flexraid, with which i am not really satisfied.

My Ideas for parts is listed below.

I want to use my old 2TB random HDDs which are still functioning as a kind of backup. That means 4x4TB WD Red and a 6x2TB old HDD as backup in one case mirrored

Will this work in this constellation?

Thanks alot in advance

I have a similar question... looking to build a system using the same motherboard (but with the Mini-ITX version: [Newegg link]

Biggest question I'm struggling with: Does the C242 chipset only work with Coffee Lake and newer CPUs? (i3 8000 series and newer?) The specs list "Intel Core i3 processors; Intel Pentium processors; Intel Celeron processors " all in the supported CPU section, but doesn't make this distinction. I looked on the ASUS and Intel websites but the information is incomplete...

Thanks in advance!
