will '-c NNNNN' make badblocks test 10 TB disk faster ?

It is customary on large new disks to test them with badblocks -b 4096 -wsv /dev/adaX (besides the SMART tests). I saw a thread on stackexchange where the user also specified -c 131072 in order to test 128 blocks at the same time. I can't remember seeing the -c option being mentioned here on the forum, although I would guess it speeds up the test. Is it not relevant for the execution speed of the test?

are you helping him port the script to FreeBSD?
I already downloaded it, so I will be looking into the script and doing some testing. I have work and school, but I will try to make time for it.
It would be a great addition to the FreeNAS GUI.
I might be able to get it working on FreeNAS, but I don't expect it to be included in the GUI. It would probably be like these other scripts:
