Will a Dell R540 with a PERC H330+ work with ZFS?

Hi everyone,

We're planning to buy a new R540 with PERC H330+.

It looks controller has contains IT mode directly. Is that IT mode passthrough or native IT Mode ? How can we ensure that ?

At least IT mode or passthrough.. Does it fully compatible with ZFS both of them?

Everything I see from Dell says RAID so, no. If you have the card, one good test is looking at the smart data for a drive. If you can see the correct drive model and serial number, and no reference to dell raid, thats a good start. You should also boot in to the controllers configuration and see if while in "HBA" mode it offers any write back cache settings. If it does, that's a bad sign.

If you don't have the card, just pick one of the recommended ones.
