Why not find physical hard disk on a DELL PE2950 server?

My DELL PE2950 server, USB flash drives to install FreeNAS system.When I removed the RAID, NAS, can not find the hard drive, I created a RAID5, you can have a positive effect on find the RAID disk how to make NAS to find all of my physical hard disk?

You might want to try being more clear in what you are communicating because it is confusing.

sorry, i'm from china. my english is bad
my server is DELL PowerEdge 2950
when set BIOS RAID on disabled, the FreeNAS OS can not find harddisk.
when set BIOS RAID on enable, and create VD of RAID 5, then FreeNAS OS can find this VD.
i like do not create VD, the FreeNAS OS can find my harddisk, how can i do?

Hi wanght,

My first guess would be that the RAID card is not exposing the drives unless they are members of an array. Some RAID cards do this and it makes doing ZFS more of a pain than it should be.

You might want to try adding each drive as a single RAID0 array on the card and seeing if you have better luck.
