Hello. If i try to reboot or shutdown i get this...

Screen%20Shot%202013-06-18%20at%2018.28.37.png

Im pretty sure it's because my update went wrong...

Can i just wipe the USB stick and reinstall FreeNas? Will this effect my RAID array and datasets at all?

Side question...For some reason i need to switch which USB port the boot/OS drive is in on each boot for it to boot at all. Are there any known causes for this? I think my update didn't install properly because of this issue, so i would like to try and fix it.

Any help is

Yes to the first and no to the second. I would install to a new USB stick.

Could be a BIOS boot order issue. I've had to play musical chairs with my USB ports in the past.

Thanks for the reply.

So do I just do a fresh install on a different stick and then transfer over my stuff?

I've tried altering the boot order and stuff but no look yet. Does the speed of the drive effect the performance of freenas?

Import the settings, yes. Data is untouched.

Booting is negligible. E.G. updating loader.conf.local yes. Though that seems to be a quirk with the 8.3 kernel and some hardware.

Sorry, i don't understand what this means. Could you explain please?

You're talking about the FreeNAS boot drive, yes? Essentially there isn't a difference. Except when mounting / rw to ro in some cases with some hardware sometimes.
