Hello,

I plan to build new system for Xenserver7 virtualization (iscsi) hosts to accommodate for at least 10 ~20 host, and 7~10 guest each , each guest would run win2k12 r2 or win2k8 r2 with mostly Java agents , and some of the video converting from high res to low res agent but the video read/write process will be on another storage .
The base disk i would plan to use would be either ST10000NM0006 or HGST Ultrastar He10 HUH721010ALE600 , by using 4 x8 vdevs
and whole storage build is as follows below:
My question regarding the disk is it a good choice or would someone recommend a totally third choice ?
Thanks
Code:
Boot device: 2x SMC SATAIII on DOM Drive 64GB, MLC SSD-DM064-PHI
CPU:Xeon® Processor E5-1630 v4
Memory:512 DDR4-2133 2Rx4 ECC REG DIMM
HBA:2x SAS 9305-16i Host Bus Adapter or support up to 36 with expander
Disks: 32 xSeagate Enterpise Capacity ST10000NM0006 or HGST Ultrastar He10 HUH721010ALE600
Cash:4x Samsung Enterprise SSD SM863 SATA 480GB
Network: 2x Intel Ethernet Converged Adapter X520-SR2 , 2x i210 Dual Port Gigabit LAN

Have you already purchased most of the stuff or is this still in the planning phase?

In all honesty your system sounds beastly... But, I would recommend talking to IXSystems on a TrueNAS Solution for this. You would want the extra capabilities (and probably another system at least) for this magnitude.
