Accessing /admin/menu.json does not give any error, however the output is empty saved to a file the file length is 0

Running a freshly compiled FreeNAS-8.2-r8639-amd64

I know this is thread is going on three years but I am having the same problem with FreeNAS-8.3.0-RELEASE-p1-x64 (r12825). The FreeNAS GUI looks just like the thumbnail in the original post - there are no links in the left column of the FreeNAS GUI. FYI I have a AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor if that matters. The NAS seems to work fine otherwise.

Things tried include:
-Reboot of the freeNAS server.
-Clearing browser (IE 10) cache and history.
-Access from other PC on the network.

Note that the left column was there the last tine I accessed the GUI (2-3 weeks ago). I had changed the admin UN & PW and turned on https at that time.

Any ideas?

Try a different browser. IE10 is broken for FreeNAS.
