When will encryption come to FreeNAS?

Hello Forum,
i am setting up my new nas system, and i really like to encrypt the storage (call me paranoid). According to the Trac Ticket encryption was targeted for 8.3, but is at 9.1 now. How definite is this? May encryption come earlier/later and when is freenas 9.1 scheduled?

It's scheduled to be installed "someday". It's not a very high priority as far as I know. If you had read my newbie guide you'd see I mentioned encryption ;). I added it in the latest changes to the guide. Anyway, encryption is one of those things that's important, but its a matter of resource management for the developers. They don't have a lot of resources, so they have to prioritize. If encryption is a MUST-HAVE feature, you'll need to look at NAS4Free. I believe they have encryption right now, but don't quote me on that.

Encryption also appears on the roadmap (for version 8.3.1). But since the one ticket you linked is scheduled for 9.1, maybe we should not expect too much.
