Hi all, when creating Iscsi LUNs (zvol) the way I have done it is to create one large Tank made up of mirrors Vdevs then create multiple zvols in that tank, they are then presented to Esxi as 3x separate LUNs.
Should I have made several Tanks with a a number of spindles each and then a single zvol per tank?
That way each LUN is a set amount of disks to use that is separate to the other LUNs.
They way I have done it all 3x LUNs are sharing all of the 24 disks in the server rather than 8x disks per LUN.
24 disks —>tank1=3x zvols
Or
8x disks —>tank1=zvol 0
8x disks —>tank2=zvol 1
8x disks —>tank3=zvol 2
Any advise would be appreciated.
