What to use SSD unused space on boot volume for?

So I switched my boot pool from USB stick to SSD. That new boot drive is vastly oversized and I was wondering if there's anything useful I could be doing with the unused *fast* disk space on the boot volume?

Try a search here - post by @Patrick M. Hausen documents an "unapproved" solution to using the space.

I have since stopped using that particular setup and threw money at the problem buying dedicated SSDs for the boot pool. But yes, they are vastly oversized. I moved the system dataset back to the boot pool.
