Since I have four different capacities of drives in my pool and the poll only allows two boxes to be checked, I can't answer.
Actually this poll has;
Multiple votes are allowed.

I could change it if the OP desires it.
How about 5TB drives. I use 4 for a backup pool.

The pol now includes 5TB drives (at the bottom) and I increased the selectons to 4.

My oldest drives in use in FreeNAS are 3TB. My most recent purchases were for 4 and 8TB. This is what I answered.

I wouldn't buy anything less than 4TB today.

Thanks.

I ended up adding my 2 backup drives, (750GB & 8TB), since they are exclusively used by FreeNAS. (Unless I have a total melt down of my FreeNAS Mini :smile:.

Poll: Eight 3TB HDDs, as two striped RAIDZ2 vdevs of 4x3TB HDDs in "tank," and two 250GB SSDs mirrored for jails/VMs in "ssd_vol."

Memories: Started on a C64 w/1541 drive 5.25 floppies (170K, iirc), then C128 w/1570 (?) drive 3.5 floppies, then Amiga 2000 w/dual 3.5 floppies before saving & saving and adding a 20MB Quantum Fireball SCSI drive on a Microbotics (sp?) Hardframe SCSI controller. Did all my college level Fortran coding on the Amiga. First modem was a second hand 300 baud for the C64 (but it was during the 1200 baud era :) ). First PC was a Dell Pentium II ("Dude, you're gettin' a Dell") that set me back something like $2200 with CRT monitor and ink jet printer/scanner.

(And the obligatory green screen terminals to the engineering mainframe in the computer lab for numerical analysis using the IMSL libraries, no remoting in to that at the time.)
