This is related to a post I made in the FreeNAS and 3rd party software.
I was told by a cctv vendor that FreeNAS does not support ARMv6 software on a Pi 4.

Thanks

No current version supports ARM.

The minimum memory requirement of 8GB already rules out all Pi variants anyway.

You may be referring to some very old versions that did support it, but those are no longer in development.

I don't believe any piece of software called FreeNAS has ever supported ARM--it's always been x86-only AFAIK.

Ok thanks for that, and it now rules out using a Pi 4 with cctv software and FreeNAS

For the assistance of the OP, perhaps this will provide some route to follow... https://icicimov.github.io/blog/server/ZFS-NAS-ROCK64-NFS-Samba/

Indeed, I think I was confusing this thread (https://www.ixsystems.com/community/threads/arm-port-of-freenas-planned.43016) and a few others like it with some actual progress/development having been made.

I agree it isn't a good idea.

Thanks sretalla, the info contained in the link is too much for me, and I'll leave my FreeNAS server a alone.
I purposely bought the pi 4 to do the job that a ubuntu desktop did with FreeNAS, not know it wouldn't work with FreeNAS.
Anyone want to buy a Pi 4 with 4gb ram, lol.
