What are the limits on file uploads?

Trying to post an image to the forum a few minutes ago, and it gave an error that the uploaded file was too large for the server to process--but I don't see anywhere (certainly not in that pop-up error message, where it would be kind of helpful) what the limits are. What are they, and can they be added to pop-up error? @JoshDW19?

Huh, the old upload window used to state the limits. I also can't find the thread where this setting was last discussed, just the thread saying that the limit was way too low.

I just tried a 2.26 MB jpeg and XenForo rejected it.

From a little bit of experimentation, image dimensions are a factor as well--I ended up resizing it to where it posted, but actually knowing the limit would be nice...
