This is a first for me. I have built a couple dozen computers over the years and this is my 3rd FreeNAS/TrueNAS build. Both the other Free/NAS machines, I put them together. Hooked to network, logged into the IPMI and ran the setup. This one won't turn on through the IPMI. I can see it but not turn it on. Not only that, the button on the case won't turn it on. I checked the connectors for the front panel control and they look right. No beep, no nothing??

Maybe I ordered parts that aren't compatible???? I didn't think so at the time.

Motherboard:
SUPERMICRO MBD-X11SSH-LN4F-O Micro ATX Server Motherboard LGA 1151 Intel C236
CPU:
Intel Xeon E-2224 Coffee Lake 3.4 GHz LGA 1151 71W BX80684E2224 Server Processor
Memory:
Micron MTA18ASF2G72AZ2G6E2 16GB DDR4 2666Mhz ECC UDIMM 2Rx8
Power Supply:
Antec NeoECO Series NE550G 550W ATX 12V / EPS 12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Semi-Modular Compact 140 mm Size 7 Year ...

Any ideas what to try?

Thanks,
Kirk

I dont think the chip is compatible...

The board requires:
Intel Xeon processor E3-1200 v6 / v5, Intel 7th / 6th Gen. Core i3 series, Intel Celeron and Intel Pentium

Whereas you have a e-2224 listed.

You need something like this or this.

Well that would explain it.
Bummer.

Thanks for answering.

For some reason, I was thinking that the 1151 boards and CPU's were compatible. :(

Does that mean that it has to be a E3-1200, 1225, or any in that series like E3-1220 etc....

How about this one?

Yep. The differences in those i believe were the ones that ended in a 5 (ex E3-1275v6) had integrated gpu/video. Where the ones that end in 0 do not. Not sure if you need video or not, GPU acceleration for plex maybe??
