Web UI gone blank

Hello.
i would like to know where the log files for the web ui are stored at in order to debug what went wrong.

I attempt to install git but it failed due to depencies.
i fetched the requested files from http://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/packages/All/
but installing cvsps-2.1_1.tbz caused the web UI to go all blank.

If logging to the system dataset is enabled you'll find the log at /mnt/<pool>/.system/syslog/log, otherwise at /var/log

What files did you fetch? You are not supposed to modify the base installation.

I'm aware of that and i probably should have setup a jail for the purpose ..
as mentioned, i fetched git + depencies requested by the package from ~freebsd ftp/latest

i did not find anything in /mnt/$pool/
i've already gone through log files at /var/log & dmesg without any luck.
